It is interesting to note that
these first 2 letters of intent were written by youth in our
barony.

Unto Baron Thomas of Tenby,
representative of the crown of Ansteorra
Write I, Katerina Griffyn
On this day, the first of August, it is my
intent to display honor and valor on the field in these battle
games. I hope to gain glory through my actions and my abilities,
and by continuing in the warrior tradition that the ladies in my
family have long upheld.
I have proven myself on the field of combat
wielding a rapier, and now I embark on a similar quest with the
padded weapons you have designated for today's combat. I have
passed 14 summers in my life and so I feel prepared to contest
against the oldest of the combatants the you have called for this
occasion.
I would like to take this opportunity to
express my gratitude to the Baron and the other judges who will
be overseeing the field today.
Yours in pursuit of the dream,

Unto Baron Thomas of Tenby does
Artorius ap Maelgwyn send greetings!
By this letter I proclaim my intent to contend
in the battle games you have announced for the 1st day of the
month of August in this, the 504th year of the reign of our Lord
Jesus Christ. May he bless the day and all those who strive for
glory therein.
Having reached twelve years of age, I hope to
prove myself a skilled warrior in the eyes of my father and the
other elders of our people, to display such prowess and
joy-of-combat as to inspire others to pursue skill at arms, and
to enjoy the challenges of hard combat against worthy
opponents.
To this end I pledge my unstinting efforts, my
careful attention to the rules of the lists, and my obedience to
the lawful commands of such marshals as you may appoint.
So say I,
