You may pay for your dinner $8.00 per person at the Gate. Please bring your tables, chairs and table lighting for the taverns.

The proprietor of Al Kahwi, Hakim al Junayd, is the only male survivor of a series of feuds that his extended family was caught in the middle of. If asked in front of his dear relations why he has opened the coffee house, he will happily tell you that he needs to provide for his family. But, in truth, he opened up shop hoping it would focus their attentions somewhere other than on himself.

If you come by for lunch or dinner, you are more likely to find his mother, Umm Hakim Khayra, or his sister, Rayya, managing the shop, while Hakim gladly escapes their notice.
